Community Matters
Flight Of The Phoenix is a small community of like-minded people. We have a small property on the
edge of the village of Gunnislake in Cornwall, UK.

As we develop as a community, we are moving towards more self-sustainability with the intention of
minimsing environmental impact.
- We have an acre (0.4 Hectares) of land which we are developing in stages to grow more fruit and vegetables. The land is sloping
and faces south east, so it has potential, but it is not without its challenges.
- We are adding rain-catching methods and storage where possible to reduce our dependency on mains water.
Being situated at the top of the village, our mains pressure is too low to reach the top of the growing area,
so we are developing low power displacement pumps to trickle pump the rain water up to the highest point of the land.
